  1. It doesn’t HAVE to be. For a lot of people, that “emotional labor” is like turning the key in the lock of the door to open it for opportunity.

  2. He shouldn’t have to be told what to do. Make a list of everyone’s chores and hold them to it. Those two girls ought to be helping too. By the time I was their age I was doing fully half the housework while my mom did the other.

    • No kidding. Even if Rob doesn’t pitch in, those girls should be doing things themselves by now. No clean clothes? Well, you should have done your laundry! Dinner’s not ready? Why not pitch in and help make it instead of asking for takeout?
